If you have ever thought to yourself, “Why hasn’t Big C’s Café posted on Facebook today,” you are not alone. We think the same thing. Every day.
Our current social media manager is a woman named April. She works full time at the café, runs the kitchen, keeps the books, orders the food, fixes the schedule, handles every crisis known to mankind, and then forgets to post on Facebook. Again.
So naturally, she should be fired.Unfortunately, she is also me.So for now, she gets to stay.
The truth is, posting every single day on Facebook sounds easy until life jumps in and says, “Not today, girl.” If you are also one of those people who doesn’t have time to check Facebook every day, I get it. You are my people. Which brings me to something new we built for anyone who wants an easier way to keep up with us.
A New Way To Stay Connected
On our website, we now have a semi-automated Big C’s Café Specials Calendar that you can add straight to your Google Calendar.
You can view it as a widget on your phone, put it on your home screen, or just let it live inside your digital planner. It updates automatically, and there will never be notifications. We promise not to spam you. It is simply a casual, helpful little thing that lets you know what we are doing without hunting down a Facebook post.
We have also added a few QR codes here and there. If you have noticed them on your tables, these are just for reading, browsing, and convenience. They are not transactional. You can still order the old-fashioned way. We will still come by your table and visit with you, or if you prefer, you can come up to our newly remodeled counter and say hello.
About That Deli…
By God, we are still working on it.
And if you have walked by the deli case lately, you may have noticed something. It is currently full of desserts. Cookies. Pie. More cookies. I am not a baker, so this was never the plan, but my employees have absolutely loved adding sweets into the mix. It has somehow been the easiest part of this entire process. The desserts took off running long before the deli did.
But please trust me when I say this. I am ready to hit the ground running with the actual deli side. The bread. The meats. The cheeses. The sandwiches. The salads. The soups. The variety. All of it. We are excited about it and committed to bringing it to life.
We just honestly need the help to get it fully off the ground. Between training, language barriers, shift changes, prep lists, marketing, and figuring out how to ring it all up correctly in the POS system, we are trying to build this thing piece by piece without letting anything fall through the cracks.
I need help. My team needs help. And your patience means the world while we get the deli case stocked the way we imagined from the start.
